CrapGPT - ChatGPT

PUBLISHED ON March 7, 2023

A client recently alerted me to the fact that ChatGPT is generating text saying that my company, Geolytica INC was convicted of copyright infringement in 2016 and lost an appeal in 2018 and was ordered to pay close to $20 million in damages. This is clearly problematic for my company’s current reputation, so I went to have a Chat with the GPT.

“what can you tell me about Canada Post's lawsuit against Geolytica inc?”.

“What are your sources for these factual claims about the aforementioned lawsuit?”

“You are making shit up. There is no such CBC News article about Canada Post winning $10.2M in lawsuit against Geolytica. Neither do any of the other sources listed here support what you are saying”

“Again this is false! The Federal Court of Appeal never heard this case in 2018 because it was dropped by Canada Post in 2016!”

“There is no such ruling in 2016! The Federal Court of Canada never heard the case because it was dropped before it went to court. You are pulling numbers like $5.3 million in damages out of thin air”

“No again! The statement released by Geolytica in 2012 can not possibly say that it agreed to anything! The lawsuit itself was initiated in 2012 and dropped by Canada Post in 2016!”

Finally!
